The sustainability of the Finnish mining industry is supported and monitored through the international Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) standard. The framework encourages mining companies to continuously improve environmental performance, transparency, and social responsibility across their operations.

In Finland, responsible mining tools such as social responsibility reporting and industry-wide sustainability systems have been developed in collaboration with the Sustainable Mining Network.
