Prospectivity Model

A regional scale orogenic gold prospectivity model. This model is constructed by integrating data from till geochemical survey (Fe, Co, Cu and Te), airborne geophysics (electromagnetic), gravity survey and geological map (major structures and metamorphic facies) using fuzzy logic technique. The output map is classified to highlight the most prospective areas for orogenic gold deposits in red colour.
Median Estimated Undiscovered Au

Median estimates of undiscovered gold resources plotted on permissive areas (tracts). The symbols indicate the estimated total resource within the permissive area, and do not give the location of the undiscovered deposits within the area.
Geology and databases
Finland is located on the Fennoscandian shield, which has strong similarities to Canada and Australia indicating strong mineral potential. The area is still much unexplored
GTK maintains online maps, which show the mineral deposits, mines and drilling sites in Finland as well as a comprehensive selection of geological data sets. This data is readily available for exploration and mining companies.

Research and development
Finland hosts leading education, research and development facilities. The government strongly supports research organizations and private companies to develop green and sustainable mining technologies.

Infrastructure
Advanced transport infrastructure and logistics are key strengths of Finland’s domestic economy Business is served by an extensive network of roads and railways, and by a vast network of waterways, canals and sea lanes. Energy pricing is competitive and power grid covers the whole country.

Policy and social environment
Finland is politically and socially stable and ranked one of lowest risk countries in the world. Regulation base is predictable. Finland is consistently rated among the top countries for mining policy and its legislation.

Opportunity Evaluation
GTK provides world's best geodata and professional service oriented staff for your purposes.
Targeting
Select the most prospective areas for your commodity, using all available data.
Local presence & exploration permit
Establish your local presence. At simplest a branch or dedicated company. Next apply for exploration permits by submitting the application to Tukes, the Finnish Mining Authority, gaining exclusive mineral rights for 5-15 years (with extensions).
Exploration
Plan, execute and discover. World class local service providers available. Remember stakeholder relations throughout the project.
Project development
Convert your resources into reserves with comprehensive feasibility studies following your preferred reporting code. Service providers are available for support with firsthand experience of the local conditions and operating framework, having significant positive effect on project costs. These include the GTK Mintec pilot plant and laboratory facilities.
Mining permits
In parallel with feasibility studies, proceed with the permitting procedures. Their integration is crucial to provide sufficiently detailed technical plans and the respective impact assessment and mitigation plans.
Invest, construct & operate
Undertake the project implementation (detailed engineering, procurement, construction). Local service providers have unparalleled expertise in relation to local conditions, including winter construction. Well-known Finnish technology companies can provide the best available technical solutions for your processing needs. In parallel with the operations, continue nearmine and greenfield exploration for other promising deposits. Please remember to keep your stakeholders informed.
